The Point of Society?

I’ve been thinking about modern society and what should be the point of it.  This stemmed from thinking about what wealth is.  So I’m going to write about it here.

(I realize this has been done before, but I find it useful to think out loud and explore internally a bit before seeing that the wheel has already been invented)

Broadly society should be about increasing wealth which ultimately means increasing the amount of time that a person has to allocate toward non subsistence living.

Now this statement of course creates problems related to what subsistence is and how it changes over time.

In the mean time if anyone has books related to what I’ve said I’d been interested in scraping the titles for a later read.
